Benefits of chanting/reciting mantras or slokas

There are many benefits of chanting and reciting of mantras and slokas. Chanting is repeating one mantra in 11, 21 51, 108 or 1008 sets. On the net, many benefits are given like it lowers blood pressure, normalizes heartbeat rate, induces correct brain wave pattern, adrenaline levels, and even reduces high cholesterol levels, sharpens the intellect, improves oxygen level in the brain (as a result of systematic deep breathing and general healing.

I am giving below what I experience from daily pranayama of slokas:

  1. Self-Discipline

I live in Kolkata with my husband.  Nobody there to discipline me like put kolam, bath and cook, etc.  My elders have inculcated in me the good habits and I have become self-disciplined one.  Within such a short time in the morning I finish my puja, cooking, washing, eating, packing, charging phones & laptop, attending phone calls both official and personal (which are unavoidable) and leave for office. Putting kolam is an exercise and gives satisfaction to see that entrance cleaned and decked with the kolam. If I bath first in the morning I feel fresh and then I don’t sit and waste time.

  1. Hopefulness

Each and every one of has some problems or the other. Puja helps in giving a positive attitude and sometimes I feel the solution comes automatically without even trying.

  1. Satisfaction

It gives me great satisfaction. I feel the day will be good

  1. Energy for working

It gives me energy all through out the day and interest for all the other works.

  1. Perseverance

I don’t worry about the results. If I know I am doing good work I just continue my work

  1. Cleanliness

Nothing to add here. Cleanliness also comes automatically
